The new website will let people who require emergency shelter view available residential listings, as well as the conditions set by homeowners, such as the length of stay, and the suitability for families or pets.
The statement said that this would be helpful in times of national emergency when there is an urgent need for housing temporarily. For instance during the outbreak of Covid-19, certain Singaporeans graciously offered to host Malaysians who were in need here at the time of the closing of the border.
Mogul.sg is currently developing this emergency portal, and integrating it into their current platform.
As part of the agreement inked between the company and MND, the firm will absorb all operational costs associated with the portal. The company will also have to make sure that users of the portal are verified and protected by laws.
The statement hailed the partnership between the private and public sector as being the first of it’s kind in Singapore.
